I left my house in Pittsburgh’s South Side Flats neighborhood at 5:55pm and was at the Allegheny County Airport (AGC - West Mifflin, PA) in less than 30 MINS. Which is a breeze compared to the Ft. Pitt Tunnel and Parkway West traffic on the way to Pittsburgh International!

The entrance to the Allegheny County Airport is beautiful. However, it is actually not where you show up for the Fly Louie flight! 😆 Luckily, it’s a quick drive to the Lynx FBO Terminal just off Lebanon Rd.

The secure parking lot is right in front of the hanger. Inside the spacious and clean terminal, I was greeted by a friendly staff offering complimentary beverages and snacks. Enjoy comfortable lounge seating during the less than 15 MIN pre-board wait times.

Time to fly! With just a few steps from the hanger to the plane door, we were wings up by 6:35pm! The inside of the plane was spacious, clean and comfortable. It featured leather seating, AMPLE LEG ROOM, and stowable tables large enough to fit laptops, notepads and beverages.
All passengers are offered complimentary beer, wine, sodas and snacks. For all you beer lovers out there, they even serve selections from Pittsburgh’s own Eleventh Hour Brewing, Co. Yum!!!

Next thing I knew we were descending and on the tarmac. We deplaned right in front of the Ross Aviation West hanger.
Joe, the fabulous crewmate from Ross Aviation escorted me to the White Plains Metro Train Station. It was about a 5 min car ride from the airport to the train station.

Following Joe’s expert directions to navigate the train station, I quickly made it to the platform just as the train was pulling up. Within moments I was on the metro and headed to Midtown.

Hello, New York City! I went from Pittsburgh’s South Side to NYC’s Grand Central Station in 3hrs!
Depending on where you’re traveling to, Grand Central is accessible to multiple public transit lines throughout Manhattan, or there’s a cabbie stand outside the PARK AVE exit.
Sunday RETURNING home
My returning flight was even more enjoyable. There was a big snowstorm heading towards NYC and Fly Louie’s top priority is passenger safety. This time I opted to travel with Uber from Manhattan back to the Westchester County Airport (HPN - White Plains, NY). I accidentally (again) went directly to HPNs main terminal instead of the Ross Aviation West hanger... But luckily the airport was filled with eager staff who offered to give me a lift to the right place. As I was leaving, I overheard a JetBlue flight announce a cancelation due to the storm.
I thought, thankfully I’m traveling with Fly Louie. I am definitely getting back to Pittsburgh today!

Despite the weather conditions, the flight was smooth and quiet. I enjoyed a tasty stout from 11th Hour and the cloudy views from the plane were magnificent.
